Carer Awareness Training (DVD and You Tube links)

sCarers and staff at Sunderland Carers’ Centre have produced a Carer Awareness Training tool in a DVD and You Tube format. It is hoped Health and Social Care professionals will find this training accessible and useful, although anyone wanting to know more about carers will be interested in the information presented.

The DVD covers many themes around unpaid carers looking after family members, partners, friends or neighbours who have a long term illness, disability or are elderly and frail. The carers featured, from Sunderland, Gateshead and South Tyneside, talk about their real-life experiences of caring in a talking head format. Denise Robertson, MBE, also gives an introduction to the DVD.
