Carers Coffee Evening - Wednesday 1st May

Would you like to meet up with other carers on an evening?

If so, come along to the next Carers Coffee Evening on Wednesday 1st May, 6.30pm - 8.15pm, at Sunderland Carers' Centre, Thompson Park, Thompson Road, Sunderland SR5 1SF.

It does not matter who you care for – all carers are welcome. This is a chance for you to get-together with other carers.

Jolene Dunbar, from Sunderland Libraries, will also be calling in to give a short talk.

No need to book, just turn up.

Have your say on hate crime with Northumbria Police

There will be a video booth at:

The Foyer

Sunderland Library and Arts Centre

Fawcett Street, Sunderland SR1 1RE

on Monday 29th April, 10.30am - 3.30pm

Northumbria Police are using a video booth to encourage people of all ages to record their feelings around antisocial behaviour and hate crime (including disability hate crime) in an environment that allows them to share what they feel.

Northumbria Police will use this information as ‘video diaries’ on a website (as either sound or video clips) and as a training aid.

Northumbria Police official consent/contact forms will be provided for those taking part.

The video booths are large enough for wheelchair access and can support a carer accompanying someone. There will also be a person with the booth who will assist with its use.

Satisfaction Survey

Sunderland Carers' Centre wants to give as good a service as possible to carers and in order to improve the work we do we conduct an annual Satisfaction Survey to obtain carers' views on the services we provide.  This year 190 carers took part in the survey and the results have been collated into a report.

Thank you to all the carers who participated.  We are overwhelmed by the many positive comments made by carers and the feedback you have given about our services will prove very valuable in helping us develop our services in the future.  Overall 91% or carers who responded described our services as excellent or good and the average rating out of 10 given was 9.
