TV's Flower Pot Gang transforms Carers' Centre Garden for Young Carers

Presenters Anneka Rice and Phil Tufnell with gardener Joe Swift

The Sunderland Carers' Centre garden has been transformed thanks to the young carers being chosen to take part in a TV programme called "The Flower Pot Gang" which was televised on BBC1 on Wednesday 22nd August at 8pm.

The programme was presented by Anneka Rice and Phil Tufnell alongside award winning gardener Joe Swift who designed the garden.

The young carers were involved with the planning, designing and making of the garden with the 16+ group of young carers helping out every day alongside a host of volunteers.

Calling all carers... come and see our new garden at the Carers' Centre Launch Party

Sunderland Carers' Centre would like to invite adult carers and young carers to the official launch party of our new premises at Thompson Park, on Wednesday 29th August, 10.30am – 2pm.

Come and see the new garden, take part in competitions, enjoy a buffet lunch, be entertained by a steel band performance and lots more! There is something for everyone - young and old. If we need to escape the weather there will be indoor activities too.

No need to book – just turn up on the day.
