Young carers are missing out

Young Carers Awareness Day logoIn the last few months Carers Trust have been asking young carers what they are missing out on due to their caring roles.

* 80% of young carers said they are missing out due to caring

* 82% are missing out on seeing their friends

* 60% are missing out on events and activities

* 56% are missing out on their hobbies

* 47% are unable to complete homework due to caring

Understanding Dementia

A Resource for Carers and their Families

Essence Service logoWould you like to increase your knowledge of the medical, legal and social aspects of looking after someone with dementia?

These sessions will also give you the opportunity to hear from other carers in a similar caring role to yourself and give you time to learn about and share coping strategies that can help in your caring role.

There will be five weekly sessions in Washington and Hetton.
