Carers' Perspectives on Assessment and Personalisation

On-line publication and You Tube links

Sunderland University, Carers Association in South Tyneside and Sunderland Carers’ Centre have worked in collaboration to produce the Carers’ Perspectives on Assessment and Personalisation publication.

The publication includes background information about the personalisation agenda, legislation and strategies affecting carers as well as the current legal position with regard to carers, assessments and personalisation.

At the heart of the publication are the ‘Conversations with Carers’. This section features real experiences and quotations from carers from Sunderland and South Tyneside who attended a workshop in June 2011 to inform this publication. The comments in the publication are written in their words and are their experiences relating to assessments and personalised services. Their comments also consider the dilemmas facing professionals when trying to offer personalised services.
